Stephen Whale’s artistry has been hailed as being ‘sensational’, ‘jaw-dropping’ and ‘at the top of his game in his generation’ (Performing Arts Monterey). Originally from Sydney, Australia, he has performed as soloist with the Queensland and Sydney University Orchestras in Australia. Internationally, he has performed on various concert series in the USA (such as Vaughan recital series, Dartmouth College) and at festivals such as Bergen International Festival (Norway). Since moving to Aarhus, Denmark in 2020, Stephen has performed chamber music, solo and lied recitals around Denmark and Germany. These include appearances on the "Classical Mornings" series in Aarhus Musikhuset (with Aulos Duo), lied and solo recitals for Aarhus Festuge (festival), as soloist with Aarhus Amateur Symphony Orchestra and at the Richard Strauss Institut. He holds degrees from the City University of New York (DMA), Yale School of Music (M. Mus, studies with Boris Berman), and Sydney Conservatorium (B. Mus, Hons, studies with Natalia Sheludiakova) and has been a recipient of the Coughtrey and Henderson travelling scholarships.
